I want to use my old mac mini (model A1103) to backup data on time machine. My current processor is a newer mac mini (mid 2011) running Yosemite 10.10.2. I bought the mac mini at an apple store and had them transfer all of my files to the new mini in late 2011 or so. The Mac mini is Apple’s only desktop model that doesn’t include a keyboard or mouse. Apple says buyers can plug in their favorite USB keyboard and mouse – or buy Apple’s offerings. Mac OS X 10.4 and later include support for remapping the Windows alt and option keys to option and cmd. The Mac mini is expandable.
